Hi.
So I finally decided to buy 49CC 4 stroke motorized bicycle with HuaSheng engine and planning to ride from California to South Dakota. (I Know those bikes are not ment for this but that a challenge I'm willing to take)

My question for you guys is as following:
What spare parts are essentials to take with me in my journey?
Does your 4-stoke have a Grubee T-belt 4G transfer case?
If not pay for the airfare or take a 4G along because the transfer cases gasbike, kings, etc include are junk ;-}

I did 125 mile round-trips in NY on a chinagirl/Walmart bike and was just fine. the sore butt is to be expected,..even with the most hi tech, expensive seating obtainable. #factsoflife

for LONG distance touring, i took my surly cross-check (goodbye forever, Walmart) and put a sweet china girl on her. and this may, I am going to ride it from Poughkeepsie NY. to kingman AZ. and if the china girl quits, she's getting unbolted and tossed,...(if I cant fix it) -and it's pedal time. im bringing front and rear panniers and a back pack.

tent, blankets, the whole shebang. im also bringing a pile of cash. no schedule. this is going to be my final great adventure before I turn 52. im gonna retire----literally----in kingman AZ or thereabouts. weekend bikepacking from then on.

I will most certainly document it and share. no poser-ey you tube documentaries, though.

When you do this trip to Kingman, you should first go to Chicago, get on Route 66 and head west, parts of the old Route 66 have been swallowed up by the Interstate, but most of it can be traveled on the old highway. Read up on the old Route 66 it's history and lore. But beware, once you have traveled 75% of the old 66, you will eventually want to finish up with a ride to Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. Not many people can say they traveled 66 by bicycle from start to finish.

im going the southern route thru Oklahoma,amarillo, etc. I did see the rt 66 adventure biking route. ill prob. pickup rt 66 somewhere after Amarillo,..because it goes straight thru kingman. NO interstates. NO police. in not in a hurry.

I live in Phoenix, AZ, not that far from Kingman. I have been unable to get up into the mountains with my single speed friction drive setup. I simply did not have low enough gearing. Unfortunately I am disabled and can no longer pedal. I used to be a mountain biker, but those days are over. Best of luck.

Good luck.
By the way where do you find those China girls?
Also I would stop in at Target's get a twin baby trailer for hundred bucks.

tyvm.

I tried trailers. big, and small. I just don't like using them. IMO its gonna be too much to deal with going in and out of motel rooms, pushing on trails to get to a campsite, and locking up in front of stores. as it is, I have too many bags to carry by myself away from the bike,..they have to stay on the bike for the duration, and I must stay in arms reach. (quick dips into gas stations, etc) anyplace where i have to walk away from it is verboten. any diner stops must be against a window,...with the bike right there, locked to the hilt. for my very first long distance run,... I gotta keep complications to a minimum. IMO.

I personally would go strapped. Sounds like you'll be going through all the areas The desperate and homeless frequent. The sheriffs used to hang horse thieves. Now days it's up to us.
