Slowly but surely . . .

This project is taking a while (cash flow).

So I am having real hard time with the front wheel axle. The forks are too wide and it takes squeezing the fork tubes in in order to get the front axle into the "stays" Has anyone had this problem and found a solution? Are there axle extensions you can install on these to close up the gap?

If you get a chance, can you measure the axle-to-axle wheelbase?

The Seattle looks a bit shorter than the standard stretch Mustang but also looks sooooooo much better.

Whoops sorry, I got sidetracked. Here is the measurement: 57 inches from axle to axle.

Yeah, you definitely want to keep your spacing proper with a suspension fork. They don't like to be on axles with O.L.D. much narrower or wider than the fork, and as you've seen, will bind the fork right up. I encountered that myself, and had to adjust the spacing on my Sturmey front hub for my RockShox.

This isn't a suspension fork. It's just a triple tree fork.

Amazon and ebay have spacers that go between the cone and lock nut. You can use them with sealed bearings as well.

So I have seen these before, I'm just not sure how they work. Do they extend the axle out?
That's what I need to do. I almost thinking I need to install a longer axle. Not sure what to do
at this point.

If the axle isn't long enough to go past the dropouts than you need a longer axle and it needs to be spaced to the proper O.L.D. Thought those mags had wide spacing for fat tire bikes?

Yes they have wide spacing for fat tires but the axles are too short for the triple tree non-shock absorbing forks. They have pressed in bearings that the axle runs through but I am not sure how I would install a longer axle. I found one on bicycledesigner.com but like I said not sure how I would accomplish this.
