Hi Everyone,

I appreciate any responses in advance.

I found myself in a bit of a pickle. I have a bicycle frame on my Phantom Ghost Classic bike that came standard with the dual monarch springer forks that adapt to the bicycle with a Neco 1 1/8" Internal/semi integrated headset.

I ended up having an accident with the bike after the set screw fell out of the piece that keeps the forks from experiencing to much lateral force. Based on the initial quality of craftsmanship on these bikes I would have to say don't ever buy one for the $2,500.00 price tag.

So I ended up purchasing a new set of forks shown here: https://www.3gbikes.com/product-page/triple-tree-fork

The problem I have now is that It seems to be almost impossible to find a 1inch headset for the new steerer tube that will fit the frame. They are all either standard 1" headsets for traditional frames or 1 1/8" headsets.

At this point I am even willing to go to a machine shop or use some sort of adapter. If anyone has experience or a link to some parts that might help I would very much appreciate it.

I underestimated the complexity of bicycle headsets fork combinations before I took this job on.

the new forks are 1" and the old forks were 1 1/8. The headset had pressed cups to hold the bearings.

There are adapter headsets for fitting a 1" steerer into a headtube meant for 1&1/8" steerer, but only the older, conventional external cup style headset.. I think you're screwed for adapting 1" steerer to a headtube made for 1&1/8" semi integrated. Its a jump of too many generations of tech.

I have an Origin 8 1 inch threadless headset on my beach cruiser. I'm not sure what u did here but the bike shop guy threw away my Neco when he put on my front end!
