Hey,

I bought a used Whizzer a week ago and I have not been able to start it. Any advice/tips?

did it start before?

do the basics, check for fuel delivery. then check the air filter
check for spark.

if you have all three then its timing, or low compression.

Checked everything, looks like the spark plug is not sparking.

disconncect the killswitch.
then see if the spark plug is sparking, if not check the points (if the engine has it.) and check to see if its grounded properly.
of not its going to need a new coil.

Okay I'll try that. Could the problem just be a bad spark plug or electrical (no accessories seem to work at all).

You say the bike was sitting for 15 years?
The bike will start with a dead battery. The battery is there to run the accessories. The battery will charge up once you get the bike stated But I bet you need a new battery. When you turn the motor over the headlight should come to life with the Stator spinning.
There is one main fuse. But the bike will start with a blown Fuse and the head light and tail light will still work cause of the stator. The battery is needed for the horn, brake light, turn signals and to keep the lights bright when your stopped
First Check and see if your head light comes to life when you turn over the motor. If not check and clean up the battery ground. If the head light comes to life when ya turned over the motor. Check spark plug wire to coil and that the wires to the coil are plugged in also check all other starting system plugs Look for any damaged or loose wires.
I see your bike has a rear mounted stop light switch. I have heard that switch must be plugged in because there is a hidden ground for the starting system.
Before trouble shooting any farther, If you don't have spark replace the CDI with a new one. The CDI is under the tank

Updates as of today.
  • Battery is in the mail so haven't changed it yet
  • Replaced the CDI under the tank with a new one, still won't work
  • Replaced spark plug
  • When completing starting motions, lights are not still turning on
  • Rear light is plugged in
  • Fuse is not blown

I assume you checked the kill switch.
Need to check the Stator and make sure the mounting screws ain't loose (Taiwan don't know how to use loctite)
That 15 year old battery might have a short Un plug it, The bike will run without it. Keep ground to frame (new battery in the mail)

Will check the stator and order a new one just in case.

The new battery came and now all the accessories actually work!
