Hello all, this is my first motorized bicycle I will be building and riding and I decided to go with what seemed to be the best mb kit out there, the EZM Pacesetter kit for my 1960's Schwinn Typhoon. I also invested in a bored out carb with a high air flow filter and I'm wondering if I can break in the motor in with that carb on or would it be better to just have the stock carb? Any other tips for a novice when it comes to the HS142F, EZM drive, or four stroke bikes in general please let me know! Thanks for any feedback!

That is not a WHOLE kit, just parts of a kit. No tranny, no engine etc. Also I thought EZM went out of business. Be careful my friend on what your ordering.

Just talked to Quincy from EZM and everything seems legit, he's shipping it out first thing tomorrow morning and it should be here by Tuesday. He even advertised it as a complete kit over the phone so I assume all is well. If you're talking about what I ordered from AGK I know that's just the carb and a few other miscellaneous.

It's an upgrade kit if you have the engine, mount, tranny, throttle, gas tank, cables, killswitch, bottom bracket assembly, exhaust etc.
That kit makes your engine flow better, but it's not a full engine kit to motorize a bike.
Edit: read the next one and see you got the ezm pacesetter kit and bought those agk parts to upgrade the kit. You are going to have tons of fun.
We need enough hs142/144 users that want an aftermarket cam. Was told they won't do it without a minimum of 50 orders (I might buy 5).

Awesome finally some good news! I got warned I would break the motor but I don't plan to ride it full throttle all the time so I was wondering if I'd be ok with the carb in that case?... with still riding wide open on occasion for fun of course. And how long after break in would you recommend I put it on?

Put all your upgrades on right away. You don't want to do any full throttle runs, vary the RPMs for the first 24 hours actual run time, then change the oil.

I like to go up a small incline for break in, most half throttle with the occasional full throttle for a few seconds.

I suggest changing the oil after the first half hour of running or so, there will be metal in the initial oil, don't want that to stay in for too long.

Just note that when you go with EZM you will need a straight shaft engine with no
clutch, which means you won't be able to use the 4G belt drive and adjusting the
the rear sprocket will not be easy. You won't be able to use another tranny. So
you're married to the EZM solution, and if it is not to your liking, you might be stuck.
There's no going back with the EZM trans. I'd say with more motor power, the q-matic
or the pace setter may work better. I honestly don't trust EZM because of their history
of not answering emails and generally lousy customer support. One day they are in
business and the next day, out-of-business.

I planned to possibly toy with a predator 79cc after... Unfortunate to hear they're an unreliable business though.

On other news, do you also think it will be ok to break my motor in with the new carb as long as I don't redline it all the time?
