I got the 19mm hp carb. I choke it when I cold start it because it starts better that way. Its hard to start either way though. Its a little easier when its warmed up but not by much.

Do you happen to know how thick of an o ring I need? 1.5mm to 2mm sound about right?

The o ring i'm not sure,if the carb has a pilot jet go bigger,if no pilot then raise the needle and make sure float is at the right height.

I'm 99% sure it doesn't have a pilot jet. So yeah, what does raising/lowering the needle do in comparison to changing the regular jet? And its the needle clip I got to raise right?

Your jet is essentially a hole that fuel passes thru. The bigger the hole the more fuel it flows. The needle is tapered and fills this hole. By raising the clip you lower the tapered needle lower into the hole and restricting the fuel flow a little with each notch on the needle this leans the mixture out. When you lower the clip on the needle you raise the tapered needle in the hole allowing more fuel to flow. This richness the mixture.

Lowering the clip raises the needle,float adjustment is important aswell to get the idle right.The needle let's you fine tune off idle and the transition there upto 3/4 throttle.

It sounds good, I think you found the right sized jet, didn't hear much 4 stroking once it was warmed up. Have fun!!

Hey I found a head similar to the Fred Head. Is this any good? Just to let others know what the best alternatives to the Fred Head are since Fred is not making heads for at least a year.

Thats a decent head and Arrow does quality work. This head from cdhpower.com is also a good head with a redesigned squish area and 5.5 cc volume. Its a little cheaper but shipping will take longer cause its coming from China if you buy directly from CDH. You can also get it on Amazon if you're in a rush but I think its more money.
