HI everyone

Hi folks,
I am new to the forum but not new to motorised bikes, been building them for myself and others for about 10 years now.
I have just built a new one in May for myself since my Huffy Cranbrook Beachcruiser frame snapped on me after 5 years and 6,000 miles on it.
I have used the Zeda 80 with 36 tooth sprocket and NGK B6HS plug this time around and has been the best OOTB experience thus far, as its still on breakin period at 225 miles, much better than Flying Horse or Seeutec's that i have used in the past. (see specs here below).
https://www.bicycle-engines.com/new...it-ceramic-coated-cylinder-firestorm-edition/

It's done on the cheap as i do not afford much being retired old fart etc.
The bike comes from Walmart, "Hyper Bike Company" for 99 dollars plus tax, The tires are Bell Kevlars, the tubes are double thick slime filled, the seat is a wide, no horn, memory foam schwinn, Amsoil 2 cycle full synthetic Dominator oil as well as their Dominator Octane Booster.
Also is equipped with "BurningSun" Solar chargeable LED lighting kit, (very bright), with built in horn and a digital speedo and a spring loaded chain tensioner as well.

After hitting 47 miles per hour, i backed off the throttle and cleaned the racing stripes out of my underwear...lol...Im in the high desert area of Alamogordo NM at 4,500 ft above sea level and have the needle valve C clip at the top for leanest mix.I am presently at the Zeda recommended oil/fuel mix for breakin at 20:1 ratio and at 300 miles will be at 32:1 mix thereafter.

I am going to attempt to attach pics here for all to see. (note that front engine mount is not in kit, its my own design).

Any questions, please ask.

Regards,
DAMIEN

Howzit Damien , Have you reinforced your front fender bracket?
They are famous for breaking and the front fender wraps around the front tire sending the rider flying over the handle bars.
I would hate to see an Old Fart like you go flying over the handle bars and break his neck.

Im not quite sure what you mean by reinforce but it is on pretty sturdy along with the front brake caliper embracing it rather tightly along with all bolts, fasteners etc, all locked into place with locktite...never lost a fender in almost ten years of building these bikes and all were fender equipped...DAMIEN

Ps...Old Farts like me wont break neck too easily...TOO fat...lol...weebles wobble but dont fall down...lol.
I did take apart both front and rear hubs though to pack the wheel bearings...seems the chinese have not mastered the art of this as of yet...they were dry right out of the box, a warning to everyone to check these before ever riding, at least on chinese made bikes, and never let Walmart employees assemble bikes for you...do this yourself to be certain it is done right the first time.

-Safety Warning-
It's the bracket or the rivets that break on the front fender from engine vibration.
Most change the fender bracket to a strong L bracket and bolts or just remove the fender
Here check this out https://motoredbikes.com/threads/beware-the-fenders.20496/

Since you an Old Fart as I am. You must remember the Schwinn and other bikes Made in USA They always had 2 fender braces and the front fender was also bolted to the forks. The front and rear fenders were secured in 3 places for Safety. USA Quality Control
Made in China Bikes skip safety. No Quality Control

Hi Wrench,
This bike does have 2 fender braces as well as being bolted to the forks where the front brake hold down bolt goes through the frame...3 points were covered at least by this china bike, its one of the reasons why i did not go with a Huffy this time, the frame and components i saw when i opened the box at "Wally World" were heftier and the welds were much better done than the Huffy's...Hell, even the paint job was nicer, just always watch out for the wheel bearings not being lubed at the factory on these chinese bikes, bearing lube must be on the embargo list over their...lol...im still a believer in split lock washers and locktite on everything...thank you for the concern though, that pic looks like a real "ouch" for someone though, hope they came out of it OK...DAMIEN

Ahhh, OK, now i got ya,

I would have called that 4 fender braces myself as i now see your referring to the additional braces in the forward part of the fender.
curious to me is that the pic of the wrecked bike doesnt appear to have any fender braces at all, did they "implode" ?,.lol. i can only see a fork/frame bolt on that fender. dont know if i can adapt mine to be like yours as yours appears to be a full wrap fender, whereas mine is a "half" fender in comparison...Yours looks a lot like a "Whizzer" type construction...havent seen one of those since the 1950s...DAMIEN

You don't see the fender brace in the pic of the wrecked bike. Because the fender brace is wrapped around the front axle.
What happened is the fender mounting L bracket or the rivets broke.
The fender grabbed the front wheel and the fender brace wrapped around the front axle wedging into the front wheel.
Making the bike come to a sudden stop sending the rider flying over the handle bars to break his neck.
The rider lived but he really did break his neck.

What you can do to make your front fender safe is to replace the mounting L bracket with a stronger L bracket.
P/U a strong L bracket at your local Hardware store.
You will have to cut the L bracket and maybe bend it a little to make it fit perfect. Also trim the bolts that stick out past the nuts
Here is a pic of a strong L bracket with some nice button head bolts w/lock nuts

Nice build, I personally would make the exhaust black. I have a black engine with black exhaust, looks solid.
