Question: Simple Mount Modification vs Kit Plate

One minute video:
I agree with you about flat front engine mount...This is why my friend who works on military aircraft and I made one from scratch using a bar of 7075 T6 military grade, aircraft aluminum...Pics below...More pics will follow shortly as ive just converted bike to Mags and disk brakes...DAMIEN

Ps...Your solution looks like it will work...Just be sure to locktite everything...I would also use lockwashers or acorn lock nuts.

Another possibility is this one too.

Thanks. My frame's triangle is so small I may have to file down the case some just to get that small plate on. I certainly don't have room for that mount in the pictures. Looks nice though.

I did think about something else though, concerning that flat plate. Is it possible that the flat plate would help protect against the engine's tendency to twist some when revving? Since the holes for the U-bolt are higher than the holes on the engine?

Nice mount

That's essentially what I had to do. When I was putting together my shift kit, I had to use the half-link for the middle chain (the one from the jackshaft to the chainring), but then one day when I was out riding, the half-link quit on me. So I had to replace it with a full link, but when I tightened it, the front of the engine was way off of the frame, since the whole engine slides up and down to tension that chain. I had a second (bad) engine sitting around that I was using for parts, so I grabbed the front mount plate from that and used it as a spacer. It looks like a dog's breakfast but it's holding up great.

(yes, I know it's filthy, don't judge me)

I bought two of these from bikeberry. They are of much higher quality than the one that came with my Wild Cat. They even look better with contoured edges instead of the flat rectangle of the original.
