So the stock gas tank that comes with most engine kits is just kinda ugly, now I'm at the end of my Budget but thought it would look a lot better if I sanded off the edges making it smooth, my question is if I take that away will it be stable, and will it hold gas? For your reference see the picture below.

DON'T do that...The tank is made in 2 pieces...That is where it is seamed together...Also be sure to NOT overtighten the nuts onto the bolts when you put it on the bike...If you overdo it, you will pull the studs away from the tank causing leakage...DAMIEN

Don't grind the stamped seam edges it might leak

What looks cool is get some automotive peal and stick chrome door trim and put it on.
But ya might have to put a dab of epoxy on the ends to keep it on

Thanks the perfectionist part of me really didn't like the edges, the chrome looks nice I will maybe have to do that.

If Chrome ain't you thing, it also comes in Black, and probably any color ya want.
