For the engine to lag and pop because of the S/P gap. The S/P would have to be old and eroded or the S/P gap was set below recommended specs
New plugs have sharp edges that help the spark .025" is recommended and fine
If the S/P was old and eroded, Yes, increasing the S/P gap to .030" will make a hotter fatter spark to ignite the Air Fuel Mix properly
But it takes more Elec. to make a hotter fatter spark, demanding more Elec. from the Elec. system

Probably too much fuel, move metering needle clip up one notch.

I gapped my gt6 at.020,no power, it somewhere .017-.019,my bike but no power? Can someone tell me the right gap

Most of the small engine sparkplugs have the same gap zone. I always check to be sure.

My stock CDI is a little weak. I get better spark with a tight .024 gap (b6hs).
