Does anyone know what the best way to extend the exhaust on these bike are? I`ve seen some posts about using flexible steel tubing, some about welding a pipe on and some say you should put an expansion chamber on, I would like to route the exhaust behind me( so it doesn't get on my clothes) while increasing or keeping the performance equal, any tips? Btw it has been performing well with a top speed so far of 51Mph on a slight downhill

( so it doesn't get on my clothes)
I was getting some black on my clothes as well and thought it was from the muffler tail pipe end...Found out it wasn't...The black was actually coming out of the cheap, crappy, chinese, stock exhaust gasket between the engine and the pipe...I replace that with a gasket from a Toyota land cruiser O-2 sensor...no more dirty clothes.

Its easy to check for, just take a rag or shop towel and wipe where the gasket is...my leak was on the underneath part of it...DAMIEN

Ps...If that is indeed your problem, Here is the current Toyota dealer parts#/stock#, for that gasket...89466-20020-83.

If you shop Autozone, etc., its a "Dorman" brand part number ...Dorman 47021
When installing it...The side that has more metal to it rests against the exhaust pipe, not the engine block/cylinder head area...you will need to slightly elongate the holes in that gasket for the bolts or studs just a wee little bit for a perfect fit...I used a slightly oversized bolt to do that with.

I have a tube bender and a welder, so making my own exhaust isn't a problem. Some guys use high temp silicone tubing for the bends.

Its not oil, it just the smell of the exhaust, I get complaints that I stink after I ride my bike, but I might still upgrade the gasket.

Did adding a exhaust change the performance of the engine? and what size pipe did you use?
Totally changed the bike, it went from barely getting up the hills to going up at half throttle.

What is the mix ratio that you are presently using ??? I get no smoke, no fumes...Im using a full synthetic 2 cycle oil at a 32/1 ratio which tends to be ideal for stock 2-strokers...DAMIEN
I`m running 32/1 as well, there is no smoke but, supposedly I smell like exhaust after riding it( I personally don`t smell it)
