Swapping a 415 chain for a 420.

Is what you might want to do if your plague with broken chains go to some RV motorize sports repair place ask for a scrap piece of 440 about a foot-long and drag that thru your drive box to see if there are any snags second the drive gear look different it looks more like half-moons than vertical teeth then search the internet with specks to see you got everything down perfect for those with the agony of chains breaking.
That I would like to know-s**t I'll do it myself sometime later this week.

Inspectorcritic, pictures can show the difference on the drive sprocket. I would like to see the difference as I've never heard of 420 being used on these engines but wouldn't be too surprised. The 415 chains that come with these engines are very cheaply made, especially lately I've heard with some. A good quality 415 should be adequate. I personally use #41 because it's cheap and available but it's not the best in strength either. Charts show strength but I'm sure it also largely depends on what maker the chain comes from.

I prefer the 420

Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

To me pot is an old people tonic. I chock it up to the counter culture making it popular with the young crowd. Whatever works, s**t made me lazy.

OKAY...if its sliding over the teeth, than its NOT working fine, there is a definite problem thats going to be damaging.

I think you meant to say 420 and 440 ???...you typed them as 120 and 140...DAMIEN
No it's my mistake it's not sliding I have been paying close attention to it been so damn paranoid about the chain breaking.
Ya, on eBay you get good deal about 10 sets masters for $8.00 bucks I was prepaid but the thief who stole my bike also stole my tool bag had at least 3 in it.

Found out what the problem was making the grinding teeth chatter. Something inside I was horsing my bike down the street then all of a sudden sounded like the chain was eating teeth off the sprocket lot of vibration then thud no motor stop dead something inside got chewed up and I know by the horrific sound it's never gonna start again.

I hoped that Bikebury new CDI was going to get in to try and resurrect another motor of two with amazing electric current, but again they mailed it some other address in town after giving me a USPS Track number then canceled the order then ship it FedEx after I paid them $30.00 extra for 2-day shipping now it's been 2 weeks still no dream product hope of resurrecting a dead motor.

When your f*** it just continues to get more f*** up it ain't gonna stop.

I have not taken the motor apart as yet but what in the hell would of gone out like ripping a chain over a sprocket noise?
