Hey everyone- you all have been so much help and aside from a few first build glitches I think I'm going to be long term doing this as a hobby and for fun.

Well my name is craig- I'm from south south new jersey- 10 minute ride to deleware.. Not a city at all - mostly farmland around here ( one farm being my own). I've ridden quads and 2 stroke 2 wheelers my whole life- cr80 to cr125 to 2 kx125s and finally a kx250.

I'm 32 years old now and this was about 10 years ago since I stopped riding. My brothers best friend was killed on his little 100cc 4 strokes cause someone pulled right out in front of them so after that my whole family got rid of their bikes for 2-3 years. During that time my brother started getting a law to try to be put into effect- his idea was that a driver's license shouldn't last a lifetime and at 65 you should be retested. It was going to pass until the governor of nj told him she couldn't pass the law because she would lose too many votes. So that whole project was scrapped with no hope

Anyways after about 2 years after that he had been riding to work on a cbr600 highly modified bike ( 9 second flat bike) and a 85 year old on the way home from her eye doctors. WITH HER EYES DILATED pulled out in front of him, stopped the car in the middle of the road. He was going 35 and had no place to go and no time to stop. He hit her and flew off the bike headfirst into a telephone pole.

He died immediately. This was 12 years ago and I just want to have something for the trails around here that I can hit about 40 maybe 45 mph cause I dont want to ride the streets anymore. I dont want to do wheelies and jumps anymore etc etc. I just want to cruise and while I know more than most non mechanics about mechinics I'd like to refine my skills also.

I have been looking into a motor bike for years and I finally got the bike and the kit last month. I got pretty frustrated when I realized when people say they can put them together in a day are either talking about a hack job or theyve done many builds and all the tools and spare parts etc

I want to build mine to look good ride smooth have decent power and be as reliable and long lasting as possible so I'm kind of taking my time now. I was hoping to have it running about 2 weeks ago but it is what it is

Other hobbies- target shooting ( skeet mostly) I play guitar since I was 10yrs old and I grow plants for fun and for work..

Thank you to everyone for being so nice so far and I hope to be around on here with you fine gentleman for years to come

Btw my brother that's still alive is a machinist and has cnc 5 axis laithes and a touch mill/ laithe. He works for a pharmaceutical company that works with tolerances that are unreal so- if someone needs a custom part I'm sure I could refer you to someone with OCD who will never make anything but perfection. So let me know- it's not going to be extremely cheap but it would be a whole lot less than trying to find a machine shop that could or would do it for a reasonable amount. Hes pretty reasonable. Just to put that out there and let everyone know

That stuff freaks me out but yeah. My brother used to stand in a bucket of water to ground himself out when working high volt live wire.... 2 inch cable type stuff lol. Amazing stuff these people do though for sure
