Currently my 80cc Pexmor engine is still in its break-in period, and is about to finish its second tank of gas. I'm not sure why I've put up with this issue for the past half week but I figured it was time to get some advice. Currently I am using a 16:1 ratio of gas and oil. I use poulan pro 2 stroke oil and 93 octane vpower nitro+ gasoline. My engine tops at about 18 mph at full throttle, emits white smoke, and drips this weird black oil from the exhaust. Not to mention the carb also ejects gasoline out of the intake and into the air filter (The carb is properly tuned and I assure has the right air to gas ratio). Should I lower my oil ratio to 32:1 or even 40:1? Any advice helps. Thank you!

oil ratio to 32:1
Use 32:1 and measure it out in a one gallon gas can, NOT the 2 litre gas tank as it will be wildly inaccurate...you can't shake the gas and oil together in the tank like you can in the gas can...32:1 is 4 ounces oil to one gallon of gas...You also dont need that high an octane...These China Girl motors do not achieve high compression levels that require it...87 octane works fine...even better if you can get ethanol free gas.

Make sure to pull the plug and clean it with some sort of degreasing agent as it will be black and wet when you pull it...let it dry after degreasing and wire brush it after to finish the clean up...Then make sure you are gapped at .025 thousandths...better yet...toss out that cheap Chinese plug and replace it with an NGK-B6HS or BR6HS spark plug and gap that at .025...That would be better.

Clean out the carb from that heavy oil mix as well and check the float.

How do you know that the carbie is properly tuned???...What position is the "C" clip in on the needle valve???...are you at sea level or at an altitude like i am???...DAMIEN

Hey thanks for responding I'll definitely try the 32:1 ratio...the C clip is on the bottom most notch of the needle valve...like if you were to go one more up it would come off. I'm at sea level

Also I just recently bought a JRL racing carb off of amazon, so I will probably have to fiddle with that too. My frame is a tad too narrow for the NT carbs

he C clip is on the bottom most notch of the needle valve
The c clip should not be at the bottom of the needle valve...its just dumping fuel...thats a problem...on the NT stock carbie it has 5 notches...you should be either in the middle notch or one up higher than the middle.

Dont mess with another carb replacement until after breakin...DAMIEN

post pics of your bike and how motor and carbie are mounted.

Got it, I will do that...

My air filter literally won't fit onto the carb...it bent the bottom air tubes so bad it was choking from air so I had to take it off. That was the biggest reason i bought an offset intake pipe and the new carb

this low profile air filter is a perfect fit replacement for the stock filter...I use it myself...See pic below...DAMIEN

It sounds like the float is too high if fuel is coming out the throat, or something is holding the float needle open, read, small piece of grit.
Look here to set float.

Did you see where he wrote that he has his "C" clip at the very bottom of the needle valve???...He is just dumping fuel in there...lol...So yeah, i would say that the float level is too high...lol...DAMIEN
