Sparesbrook

Heres a cranbrook I pulled out of trash with tires rotting off, so i was needing a bike for my 1st 2 stroke build. I have all these spares parts left over from my 4 stroke build, soo I figured I would use them, will see what I end up with at the end of this project. Since it's made from spare parts will call it the Sparesbrook!

I'd like to have it, but I had like $400 worth of parts left over from 4 stroke build I need to use, I might have to weld a mount up.

I always called it being "thrifty and frugal"...My mother would just say, "your just being a cheap B*****D"...lol...Gotta love South Boston Irish mothers...lol...DAMIEN
I never had a real mother, just an incubator. I had a geeker ex that was a dumpster diver though. She would have said " uh uh uh ya uh ua ua oh a bike uh uh uh ya hey look a mirror. Oh yeah the bike. I should take it home. He look a used lamp."

Well went back out & mocked some more parts up on the Sparesbrook. Found this stupid little chinese so called expansion chamber & it fit without cutting & welding soo I'm using it for now. Got rim brakes mocked up, dont like the rear one only way it will reach if it's on bottom of seat stays. Its slowly coming along!

I take a stock muffler, gut it, and make my own muffler, then weld it to the stinger. So it's not so loud. Those pipes do alright. Theres a lot more power in there than that pipe can get. They are cheap and easy to find, and work well enough for just riding. I use them, I mod them too. Cut the header at the bend, near the end of it, grab a J pipe of 1 1/8-1 1/4, and hack the chamber off. Then weld the J pipe to the chamber and nub of the original header. I call it the KS65 pipe. Works real nice for a modded mz65 clone pipe.

Cut the J pipe to your tuned length.

Well speaking of that cheap pipe, that's basically what I had in mind for it. Custom fabrication! I have enough thin stainless sheet & pipe to tig weld up a nice pipe & chamber, but I want to wait till I know more about expansion chamber design b4 I make anything with it.

I have more on it in my nitropropane post.

I was aiming for around 6000 rpms peak on that. 6600 max rpms what I was going for. I got pretty close, not on the button though.

On your mufflers there Karl, do you gut the stock muffler that comes in kit & weld it to end of stinger. Also this has a 7/8" I.d. stinger, do you think a guy should cut it out & use 5/8 or 3/4" i.d. for the stinger pipe.

Go smaller or you will run real hot. Depends on your porting on what size. Try both and see which one your engine likes. I use 5/8ths ID outlets.

I gut the mufflers and make my own baffles for them, I like some noise. I use 7/8ths ID outlet pipe.

Ok thanks I appreciate that, i can tinker around with that when time comes. I figured that 7/8i.d. stinger was too big.
