Engine Trouble Got a replacement yd100... and it kinda sucks.

That's interesting... I didn't know they made 100cc engines with the two piece cylinder and head. Does it use the same head as the 80cc because I can't find any that are specifically for 100cc engines.
Yes sir. You have work the squish, but if you are just a casual rider, enjoy the extra cooling power.

they will haggle( wheel and deal) with you. Tell them you seen it on the forums, might give you a discount.
I got the kit for $130, still need to do port work to the steel sleeve cylinder!

I just cleaned mine back to the jug, rounded the corners so the rings slide good. Cleaned the paint out of the head by soaking in brake cleaner, with a plug in the hole. Wasn't that hard. Preoiled all the bearings and slapped it back together. Tested it out a few times, runs good, building a bike just for it.

I have another steel sleeve from CDH that I run nitropropane through.

I have a YD and love it. However The “100” cc steel bore kit installed on a Grubee GT5 is a much better runner.
its pretty much a bear compared to the YD.

They all do but your better off with a single piece head , one gasket instead of two , however ports are different, unless you can machine, single is best.

I've had 4 of the Chinese craps, ran em till they failed, right after break in, BS if you like speed. The only one i screwed up was by misconstruing gas/oil mix ratio's in reverse, and i know I'm not the only one.

Ya, you can baby them a lil, but engines have a memory like cars...ya cant really baby it and then redneck it, if its gonna fail its gonna fail.

Im an ex builder of v8s,,, proofs in the pudding, if ya think its crap then ride them and have fun, give it at least a week, be sure shes oiled.

After i ran mine with wrong mixture, It froze up. I pulled the plug and threw straight 2 cyl oil in plug hole while it was still hot.

From my experiences, The single piece head motors are the best if they have a big intake. That was motor # 4...The cheap motors Aren't too bad. thats the one I fried, But a 66/80 would outrun a bigger 100... Uphill and especially downhill....All i'm saying is from my own experience.

Im going to finish a Yd100 right now....BTW, in rebuilding the Chinese motor, The the bottom end bearings are holding up OK, but the crank is a long stroke...LATER

I have no idea, im a poorboy, sounds fast, I saved up and bought a BBR 100cc, It didnt last 2 miles, almost $300 in parts is what i got, I had to dig around a bit and i mean hard but they do make a two piece for the circuit.

Look at cdpower i think problem is supporting parts like BBR, they offered as a condolance 50% off on what i cannot get... but first try allaroo@ebay, Amazon has some the discounts that are ok sorta but ya might get hacked...parts are hard to find...one more @ ebay is done...something but you can get bearings, term is caged roller bearings.

Know what you mean, either you get a boo or bad but I think the timing is in the pudding, got 3 to play with, one 70/80 what ever buts made the same as the 2 100s so i'm going to play, last one don 't even try to go except up the hill and back, later

No it does not use the same head as the 80cc. Surprisingly I've had one work with a 50cc head before tho.
