Title sums it up. I want to replace my right side chain (10 tooth to sickbikeparts crank sprocket) with a half link chain for better stress relief and smoother ride over the 10 tooth gear. The width of the sprockets both seem to be about .10mm (give or take) .... is this the measurement I want to take to determine whether I need 1/8 or 3/32 chain? Thanks.

All depends on the chain you want to use. Both 1/8 and 3/32 chain are strong enough.

My concern was the width of the chain sitting on the rather narrow shift kit sprockets. But, I think they only sell these in 1/8 anyways so that solves that problem. 😝

For the shaft to crank i use 1/8 and from the crank to rear cog set i use 3/32. The crank cogs from spb are 3/32. At least I was never given an option of 1/8. An I would have picked 3/32 anyway. Multi cog set in the back. Works better with a shifter to have a thinner chain, at least on my deraulier set up.

So if the sbp cogs are 3/32 why don't you use a 3/32 chain there?
