How to wire electric start 2 stroke 49cc

Well, the wire with the lug goes through the starter switch or solenoid to the positive terminal of a battery. Ground the negative terminal of the battery to the engine body or frame of the bike. I'm guessing 12 volts? A small gel-cell battery (like on a lawn mower) should work.
I already tried to start with a 12 volt adapter. But im not sure if thats a good idea. All I got was a lot of sparks

Not enough amps there to turn starter over or the starter is grounded out.

Cisco is right in what hes telling you also, but I would not run a starter solenoid because that starter is not going to pull alot of amps.

Dont worry bout that yet, let's make sure your starter is not bad 1st. Yes let's use a car battery for testing. Hook the one white ring terminal to battery positive terminal, now get a 10ga wire to to hook up to the ground terminal of battery. Now take that ground wire & touch & hold it to metal part of engine case, it wont bite you! It might initially spark when you touch it to metal part of engine case. It should try a crank over.
