Well it's that time again...lol...My bike, with the Zeda 80 motor, seemed a little sluggish to me on my way to church Sunday morning so i decided to do some maintenance on Tuesday, (Yesterday).
First, I took the gas tank off, cleaned it all out, installed new petcock with in tank fuel filter.
Next, i disassembled the carbie, cleaned it out, examined/measured the float position, installed new viton "O" ring, and reassembled carbie, and cleaned and re-oiled my K & N wannabe airfilter.
New NGK-B6HS spark plug gapped at .025
Installed new Sunlite dual brake lever to replace the cheapie i put on a year ago when the Sunlites were out of stock everywhere, and lubed the brake, clutch, and throttle cables...lol.
Don't forget to lube up your cables so they glide through their housings with ease...lol.
Installed new Rujoi semi-metalic disk brake pads, much improved from their organic pads,...(I can say with certainty that the organic stock pads only lasted me 1000 miles), absolutely needed to be replaced at this time. (If you have disk brakes, Use the brand that matches your calipers)
Fully recharged my lithium.ion battery powered light sets.
Re-adjusted the flower nut just one notch from where it was when i last adjusted it in January 2021, No clutch wear to speak of, and white lithum greased the gears on the right side of motor as well as the bucking bar and bearing on the left side.
R&R'd my exhaust to pour degreaser down its throat, plugged both ends, shook vigoroursly from time to time, Let it soak in for a few hours, poured out the sludge and air dryed in the sunlight, and replaced exhaust gasket with my usual Toyota Highlander O2 sensor gasket, (Toyota part # 89466-20020-83, or, Dorman part # 47021 from your local auto parts store).
Checked tire pressure, it was right on target...Last time i did any tire pressure adjustment was 5 months ago, probably due to the expensive double thick self sealing tubes I use along with the Kevlar tires I get from Bell...lol.
Also cleaned and lubed up the chains...lol.
I just went out for about an hour just now for a test drive to make sure everything was now correct, and to my immense pleasure and surprise, not one thing needed any further adjustment whatsoever...Everything was just perfect, right down to the engine idle...I couldn't be more pleased with my efforts, God surely does help me in everyday life.
I do this every Spring and every Fall and never have to adjust or do anything in between...Just good, common sense, normal twice a year maintenence...Hope this might be helpful to others here in the forums...Here in the desert, i have all year long riding weather, hence my particular maintenence schedule...DAMIEN
