For your viewing pleasures. I'll weld solid mounts for the engine once I get to that point, havent made mind up on a engine yet.

Ok guys I found something temporary for the lay back seat post, to give you a idea of what I'm doing, when I get to that point I'll make it like a bobber seat where it looks like its mounted to rear fender.

Well I'm thinking about cutting the rear triangle/wheel stays & making it a sway arm suspension in the rear.

Nope no cutting or bending required to set the rake on the head tube, maybe a slight bend, but I didnt notice any bending going on. No when I cut top tube out to turn it into a boys bike, did you see the picture of bike with the ratchet strap around head tube & seat tube? Take your ratchet strap & start tightening to your desired rake, then take your bar that you originally cut out, shorten it to the correct length & weld it back in
You should buy a tube notcher for your drill press if you are going to do this often. The $50 bucks is well worth it for perfect cut angles and notched perfect for joining tube, making it a stronger joint. It's basically a tilter with a hole bit on it that bolts to your drill press table. You attach it to your press chuck and it cuts when you pull. Very handy to have if messing with tubing ( bike frames) a lot, doesn't hurt to have a roller bender either.

I need to buy a tubing notcher for my upcoming project! A 410cc direct injected turbo diesel, I finally decided to build a diesel powered bike. I got diesel running thru my blood!!! I know diesels real well. Yeah I got the parts list going.

You don't need no stinking notcher, just remember the law of 1/3. Your chop saw or band saw will make the perfect notch every time. Measure 1/3 the distance across your tube and 45 it off right there, flip it over and do it again. Dress the cuts, BAM, perfect notch.

I made a one of my joints an absolute perfect fit, beveled the inside of the notch with my flap disc, one smooth continuous fitting. What an effin mistake, by the time I got it welded it was all receded back and not a very good fit. They weld better if the ends are left a little square.
