Top Speed of Belt Drive Chinese 4 Strokes

To @Deleted Member 4613 I know I'm really late to this party, but maybe some info might be valuable.
I think there's a bit of confusion on 1 crucial cog. Output is 10t not 11t. If I read the calculations wrong then I apologize.
I ride a 53cc ebay clone on a yard sale MTB. I swapped out the carb for a Dellorto clone, (found an easy little intake mani @ gasbike.net). I also ran a bit of flex tubing (bigrig heater) and heat wrapped it with a little pitbike muffler. Hub adapter and a 36t. Riding bout a year, top speed (GPS, Cycle Droid App) 38mph. I don't recall but I suspect it was downhill with a tow truck and a tailwind. LOL
I absolutely love this little 4 stroke. Great mileage with no mix to buy. (REALLY adds to fuel cost, miles per dollar vs miles per gallon.). Reliable, left me stranded 1x, fuel line rubbed thru on the back tire, operator error! I had the same motor on a beauty Electra Cruiser, sadly the aluminum frame cracked and ended up on this MTB. Everything else about this MTB I don't like. Balance isn't right for me, frame is too small (I'm 6'4").
Just finishing off a Diamondback Cruiser, 49cc HS from gasbike.net, dual chain gearbox from Bike berry. Went different on the carb, used a15mm no float bowl carb like comes on little 2 stroke 50cc go karts and such. That carb kicks ass! Hard to adapt, a little, but definitely worth it. Air/fuel adj on the fly! Believe it or not, currently runs the stock little muffler exhaust. She's quick, but haven't pushed pay 30 yet. I think the limiter might be set a little lower on this HS. I'll know more after break-in.
Any way. Last comment. You wondered about torque with a carb switch? If you could get gas and air to flow they an hour glass you'd still be doin better than the stocker. I HATE that carb!
So, if I'm to late to the party, sorry. Hit me back if you want pics.
BTW, MTB is for sale! Probably pretty cheap. SoCal area.

I just want to chime in: I got a huasheng 142f & a Grubee 4G 5:1 primary trans with a 9tooth drive gear & a 36 tooth driven gear for a top speed of 32mph by my phone gps. Mine is not totally stock, I run a 15:15dellorto carb & 7/8 stainless steel straight pipe. But with that gearing it will climb a tree thou. I can take off without pedaling no problem without clutch slipping.

Hi, Chainlube! So far on my HS144, I have hit the limiter @ 6800 rpm/33mph. The bike is 26" wheels and my overall ratio is 5>1 primary / 3.2>1 final for a combined of 16>1. Admittedly, I've never taken the time to hook up my Tiny Tach to it, but the GPS speed should be fairly accurate.

Hi, @Deleted Member 4613! So my wanting to change carbs is more a "Quality of Operation" situation... the engine just doesn't seem to be getting a decent air/fuel ratio, so I'm going to opt for a carb that should give me that. (We've all ran in to a situation on our builds where the motor/carb tune just feels "off", and my gut is telling me this needs to be addressed. )

Right now, the score is,
HS144F Build--- is top speed of 32mph, in need of tweaking for smoother-running.
Cheapo 1000W Hubmotor Build--- is top speed 28mph, 5 miles of "happy/fun range", it will absolutely SPANK the HS144F in acceleration / quality of ride ,etc. Just needs more battery. ($ $ $)

At this point, I am not going to sink another dime into the HS144 build. Yes, I will tweak it with my box of parts in the garage, but my efforts will now turn to the Predator 212/MTB project, since at this point, both are equally illegal (pedals or not), so I may as well have something that'll keep up with traffic comfortably.

The Electric is simply awesome. Just expensive. I think now is the worst time to be upgrading the battery pack, at least until the wonky side-effects of The Plandemic stop messing with the supply/demand issues.
Now come on Jerry to reach 33 mph on 26" tires with a 16:1 reduction you'll need 27 more rpms for a total of 6827 lol

....as the World flew past as a blur, and my eyes strained against the air ripping past, it sure FELT like 33 mph!......

33 mph was probably correct in real world conditions.
Gear ratio speed formulas don't account for the grade of the road or wind speed
Not all roads are perfectly level and wind speed is not always 0 mph

...maybe I DID do 33 mph !?.... I could feel the crackling of static-electricity and heard what could only be described as the beginning of a shock-wave being formed... Those guys that do 35+ mph must be considered time-travelers for sure.

Just wait till you see what happens when you hit 88 mph.
