I did it, I crossed over

This engine has such tiny cute internals. lol. Little baby dip rod, tiny little cam and yep chrome coated plastic, little baby push rods and rockers. lol. I feel like I am palying with a model engine rather than working on a real engine. The valves look like darts for a blow gun, lol.

Wow plastic 🙁

It's chrome lined at least, for longer life. lol. I've seen them where its just a chunk of plastic, no chrome of cover at all. One of the reasons I'm sure they govern these engines. So the cam don't melt. lol
Well I've put mine thru a torture test so far with no failure, granted only mods are sha15.15 carb & straight pipe exhaust. The huasheng 142f is a durable little engine in my eyes. I have a honda that I modded fairly extensively, it broke 1 of the metal rocker arms from extended high rpm runs, plastic cam in it was never affected. Replaced rocker arm & on the way again.

I don't doubt its a good motor. I ripped it apart, everything looked good. Can see they test ran it at the factory, still had some residual oil in it. Built kind of funny how the thing comes apart, but whatever, I didn't design it. Really does make me feel like I'm working on a model. lol

I got ya! When I 1st started working on these little engines I was either cussing them or laughing at them, because everything is so small. The diesels i build have 5.4 inch bore & the wrist pin clip is bigger than the piston in these little engines. I've always wondered in my head the beating these little engines are getting & keep on keeping on.

Just think how fast the piston in a Stihl MS170 must be moving, 35cc and a fixed high idle at 13,000.
