Rear disc brake question.

I feel silly asking this, if I just put a bunch of washers and maybe a nut for spacers, that prolly wouldn't be a strong foundation, huh?
As long as u tighten all the nuts n bolts properly and use loctite religiously and triple-check all the clearances.

I did a very similar disc rotor install recently and I ran a 28 tooth sprocket stacked with a 180mm rotor. The caliper bracket was fabricated which I welded to the frame and there was barely a mm clearance whichever way u looked lol it worked nonetheless....

What I noticed was - a lot of the cheaper calipers run only one piston which tends to pull the disc rotor to one side, the better option is to find calipers that runs dual pistons which effectively clamps on the disc rotor evenly from both sides. Here a link for one that's AUD $30 bucks...
Check out photo #7 in this Ebay listing n you'll see what I mean..

Man I hate to brake it to you but these are not dual piston caliper's, you had me hoping you found a cheap alternative but sadly no, this is a true dual piston mechanical caliper, see how the arm is on both sides to actuate the cam on both sides this or hydraulic passage through the body is the only way to get true dual piston movement. Also the pads shown with big heat sinks on top is a good idea but where would we find those come time for replacement?

This one is 90 bucks Canadian (each) but I've seen them as low as 40 U.S. just have to find the right vendor.
Im talking about SRs pic here.

I would be almost certain that these pads would be able to be replacement pads for that setup SR is showing which appears to be identical to the same way my Rujoi's attach to their calipers...DAMIEN

Those are nice but I'm saving my money up to modify my handle bar ends to double as shotguns. I saw a thread about dog protection and ammonia pistols. Gave me the idea of turning my handlebar ends into shotguns. 🤣

Yes for sure those would work in the ones I showed, the ones Chop Chop showed have a large heat sink above them and may be much more difficult to find.
