As long as u tighten all the nuts n bolts properly and use loctite religiously and triple-check all the clearances.I feel silly asking this, if I just put a bunch of washers and maybe a nut for spacers, that prolly wouldn't be a strong foundation, huh?
I did a very similar disc rotor install recently and I ran a 28 tooth sprocket stacked with a 180mm rotor. The caliper bracket was fabricated which I welded to the frame and there was barely a mm clearance whichever way u looked lol it worked nonetheless....
What I noticed was - a lot of the cheaper calipers run only one piston which tends to pull the disc rotor to one side, the better option is to find calipers that runs dual pistons which effectively clamps on the disc rotor evenly from both sides. Here a link for one that's AUD $30 bucks...
