Does any1 run the maxima 927 castor oil? Is there any benefits to running it? I'm currently running opti-2 at 32:1, it's been a great oil for my chainsaws & weed eaters. I've read good things about castor oil. Would there be any benefits or problems if I ran 3oz of opti-2 oil & 1oz of maxima 927 castor for a 32:1 mix. Thoughts on this?

Aim this one right at @Karl Snarl...He's the resident castor oil expert guy here in the forums...lol...DAMIEN

I'm waiting for him to chime in, he will square it away for me.
Castor builds a varnish on the walls of the cylinder. It fills in all the imperfections. Creating better compression, which means better burn, and the parts will all live, more power. It also will help save the engine if you go lean. The castor loves heat and morphs into better and better polymers as the temp climbs. Turning into a sort of lubricating plastic. Now if you mix with a standard oil, like max does and a lot of other brand names, the reg 2t oil helps to keep the varnish from becoming hard carbon. Reducing the amount of cleanings you'll have to do on the upper end. I personally clean twice a year, just to inspect the jug, I could get away with none if I didn't care about the bikes.

What's your thoughts on a mix ratio with the opti-2 synthetic? 2oz of opti-2 & 2oz of maxima927? Whats your suggestion? I've read on a couple of other forums that they use opti2 & maxima927 at a 40:1 mix ratio to keep deposits & heat down in the cylinder & piston crown. But they dont say at what oil to oil ratio they mix. Just a overall of 40:1

Sounds about what I do with the blendzall 444, the clean burn of the Opti will help make up for the dirtiness of the max. That stuff is pretty dirty when used alone.
