So..... I plan to upgrade the standard exhaust (with tip screwed off) to one of them Ebay Special, the $45-$50 ones. Reason why is because I have a reed setup and it would benefit greatly from one of them cool looking pipes (plus I want to look cool and fit in with the crowd). My question is...... are they decent enough to do the job? I want to feel the turbo-like VTEC boost when the pressure waves does it's magical thing and sends me off flying to the moon. Ya'll know what I'm talkin' about!

I have a fatty belly pipe on one of my bikes, it’s similar to the pipes on eBay, mine came from Amazon. It’s no magic bullet but helps, mine is on a 48cc so your results may be different. My best improvement was in the low to mid range, with a slight improvement at top speed. It does sound a lot better so you’ll get style points for that.

Seems that most any of the “ebay” pipes lack back pressure are loud and dont run well as is. Greg58 advised me that welding a gutted stock muffler to the pipe made it function pretty well. It did just that, and after some jetting is acceptable. Left as received running sucks and your neighbors are pissed at you.

Here’s the pipe with the stock muffler welded on.

You wanna ride the bull, better learn these engines. The mz65 is the best bolt on out there at that price level. Just make sure you get the fat belly. You can. Always mod them later. I use a KS65 on my nitropropane bike.I Need to weld up the cr80 pipe. Do a KS65 search here and check what I did to a mz65 to make it better.

You think a cheap $20 banana pipe will improve my DIO reed setup? It should at least be better than the stock pipe, right? I'm a balla on a budget and looking to spend the least I can. I actually do have a CR80 performance pipe, but it is on my shifter kart and I don't want to mess with it.

I don't remember where I saw it but somebody cut a banana pipe apart to see what it was like inside, the head pipe went about halfway through the muffler body. The guy that took it apart said it looked like a stock muffler head pipe was used to make it. The only sure way to find out is to try it.

There all going to be better than the banana or stock... The kx85 needs fabrication welding I used a banana for parts and it really wasn't worth it.... The mx 65 is the best one out there the e bay clone is right there with it.. the fake mz 65 or flame thrower is cheap and probably the best value one over stock and $60... there all obnoxious loud with out a silencer or gutted muffler... I couldn't keep a muffler on it more than a ride... the cheapest no money way is to use the stock pipe cut the muffler off it leave it long as you can... Cut off 1/4" at a time do a run... Eventually it will come into it but have a narrow power band and probably make the most power in theory but you will be in and out of it...

You need KS65

the bottom pipe is a ks65.

those nanner pipes just make your bike loud and do nothing for power.

I know the guy that makes the KS65 pipe. The dude is a Monster. He bends a solid steel rod, then inflates with with his breath to make the piping. I watched that dude eat some chromium and some iron ore, and he crapped out 317 grade stainless steel.
