At what speeds should one think about 'upgrading' to front suspension system on their motorized bikes if theirs didn't come with it? We all know these beach cruisers don't come with any type of suspension at all straight from the Wally World showroom floor..... and while just pedaling with foot power in terrain that doesn't even seem too harsh, the bike will start acting all wild and crazy jarring you up and down like a jackhammer rattling your fillings outta your teeth! It got me thinking, if I plan to break the sound barrier on my beach cruiser....... WOULD I need to fit some type of front suspension on it? OR would I be okay so long as I'm extra cautious while breaking lap time records around my block? What are your thoughts on this?

Street use, cruisers are fine, but don't go off road, too harsh of ride. Build yourself a dedicated off road machine on a good mountain bike frame.

I'm not thinking off-road terrain here...... more so your unexpected potholes/bumps/dips on regular roads, would no suspension still be fine when encountering such terrain at, say, 30 mph plus?

No, 30 is hard on a bike frame. Mountain bike forks work, just measure your steer tube before you buy. Length and diameter.

I'm not familiar at all with swapping forks to cruisers, what measurements of said forks would fit, as far as diameter and length, etc? Are they for the most part universal?

NO, they are NOT universal, hence the reason that Chainlube already told you that you need to measure the steering tube length and diameter!...DAMIEN

Where the forks go through the frame is called the steer tube, some are 1" and some are 1 1/8". Forks with a shorter steer tube length won't fit on a frame that has a longer space to fill.

I have a Huffy cruiser, what diameter are they.... I'm assuming Huffy has standard dimension on their headstock? What size should I look out for if considering a fork upgrade? Perhaps someone can send a link so I can get a general idea of what to look for?

Digital calipers are your friend.
