Dio Reed Setup - No start issue

^^ Yeah, I've seen videos of that drilling of the carburetor..... didn't want to go that route, but I guess I'm gonna have to if I can't dial it in.
I just posted that to show the inner workings of the carb, didn't necessarily mean for you to drill it out.

But if yours is bogging out, you might have to.

The problem could be the carb itself. These clones can be pretty hit or miss when it comes to being put together the right way. If you want to stick with an OKO, you can get genuine ones here-they even have a 19mm which would probably be a better fit. http://usa-oko.com

$100. Yeah, I'll let you know how it works....................... right after I sell both of my kidneys to buy it. You think I have money trees in my backyard or something?! Oh, the humanity!!

Was only joking. But yeah, I'm not looking to spend any more on this build. I bought it for a pretty cheap price so I intend to keep it that way. I just get more satisfaction spending pennies on the dollar and getting results then just throwing money at it. Gnome-sayin'?

Have you tried a stock type carb on it yet? They're like 12 bucks.

Yeah, it came with a stock carb with a funky step-down tubing setup. I thought that was the problem (turned out to be the magnet on wrong way) so I went ahead and ordered this clone of a clone OKO PWK 21mm carb but it's giving me a freakin' headache. I'd rather keep this oversize carb then go back to the stock one but if I run out of ideas to make it work, I will put the stock back on and see how it goes. But for now, I'm trying to get this carb to work, probably gonna do that mod and drill a hole through it.

It seems to be revving OK when pulling the clutch in and giving it throttle, but with load (while riding), it just bogs and sputters wanting to cut out. Why is that?

Again, your plug will tell you every thing you are asking if you learn how to read it.
I just did that drilling of a hole modification, didn't seem to change anything.... still same symptoms. At least it hasn't gotten any worse? Anyway, I'm almost certain it has something to do with how when I lean the bike over, the bike suddenly surges. That darn float bowl, me thinks. I've tried playing with the tab but no results though. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Drilling that carb was not a good idea, Idk who made that video, but you should not had to do that, to get it to run properly. What main jet do you have in it now? What main jets do you have?
