There is still too much snow on the ground for me to take out my bike, but I already ran into a clutch problem. That little screw on the clutch arm that holds the cable in place is useless now. If I tighten it all the way down and pull the clutch in, the cable manages to slide out of there. Any solutions? I could use solder, but I don't know If that will hold up.

Ok I guess I'll just get those. Thanks. Threads could be, I'm not too sure.

I have an engine kit and that is the type of cable holder that came with it. They work just as good, if not better.
You could also, if you are on a budget, get a nut and bolt and smash them together as your brake cables do.

I would think you should be able to just tap the screw hole to the next largest size screw

What size is the screw? IDK because I don't have a 2 stroke M/B
If it's a 5mm drill and tap it to a 6mm
If it's a 6mm just tap it to a 1/4 x 20

Nah, it's like a #8 too small, better with the cable stops. I put them on just about everything.

All of the early engines had clutch arms that used a cable stop, I have several from previous kits. I think you can find a stop at a lawn mower or chainsaw shop.

All the hardware stores have them too, singles, two packs, whatever you need. Amazon is best deal for 10 pack, they always come in handy.

I've had that little screw on the clutch arm strip on the very first use a few times and it's not even big enough to get a grip on the cable.
