Wouldn't you love to have something like this when someone turns right in front of you ?

Seriously, looking at this got me thinking....................loose the chainsaw and mount the engine in front of the tire down even with the axle for a better center of gravity. Hang the gas tank off the handlebar. I know it would look unconventionally funny, but is there any engineering reason this might not work ?? Compare to a front wheel drive electric or friction drive. Why not ?? Yeah, I know, I have too much time on my hands while waiting on my 7G trany issues to be resolved.

The main thing would be gear ratio, chainsaws make power around 10-12k rpm and are basically gutless below that (little amount of torque as most saws are under 40cc) you'd have to use a jackhaft or figure out a gear reduction method that would make the chainsaw peak around 35-40mph (depending on your goals) the clutch might also burn out as well (depending on the model of saw)

and other than looking a bit goofie. it'll work with what i mentioned above.

Here's videos on proper cycling techniques. I've been using these techniques and found the chances of me being in an accident has been greatly reduced. I use front/rear directional lights and a brake light that can be seen during day light hours. I also have a loud horn that can be heard inside of a closed compartment vehicle. Be sure to watch all 3 videos.

Actually a friend sent it to me. Yours is a better picture. Thanks

This is good information Jerry and a great video, but we're discussing front wheel drive bikes on this thread right now.

The title and pictures also suggest an intimidation factor being directed at motorist to reduce an MB'er being in an accident. A helmet cam can be an even bigger intimidation factor. The purpose of posting the Cyclist Eye View videos is if a cyclist/MB'er uses the techniques in the videos they're less likely to be in an accident.

I watched this and now instead of trying to stay out of the way in a lane, I command my lane. I ride in the traffic lane unless there is a designated bicycle lane. No more narrow shoulders.

Good for you, makes me feel good the message is getting through. I would also suggest front/rear directional lights and brake light that can be seen during the daylight hours. Along with mirrors and a loud horn that can be heard in a closed compartment vehicles. Sadly many drivers today dont know what hand signals mean.

I'm not sure he is caring about safety much here, brother. lol I think he is going quite the opposite way with it, and i hope there is a camera man involved while he is riding his antizombie bike. I want to see the footage.
