Rear wheel advice needed

I'm running a Schwinn early nineties vintage mtb. Predator 79cc and a 56t rear sprocket. Lots of torque. The original Weinmann rim was good but I kept breaking the 14g spokes. I tried using salvage wheels from dept store bikes but the rims would crack at the spoke holes. So my last wheel was a Husky steel rim with coaster brake and 11g spokes. I recently removed it because it developed slop at the hub. While trying to (unsuccessfully) fix that problem, I noticed two cracks in the rim itself, one at a spoke hole and another at the radius to the sidewall. I use rim brakes and use the coaster only for very steep hills or emergency.

To make an already too long story short, I need to get a new wheel. I thought I would go with the mag wheel/disc brake setup, but I don't think it will work with a 56t sprocket. (not enough clearance) I would like to stay with the rim brake/coaster hub if possible. I rarely exceed 20mph, but I tend to ride about 40 miles at a time. Any suggestions out there?

Go to grubee inc .com & order or check out 1 of there heavy duty rear wheels. Double wall 12ga spokes & set up for disc brakes or rim brakes. Really good setup.

Seems a bit odd that you have had such trouble with RIMS no matter which ones you have been using. While I am a bit new here, I don't recall reading any recent posts with such consistent failure of a rear wheel particularly cracks at the spoke holes. Are you running this bike off road or over curbs or potholes?

Worksman. Their from old school hotdog and peanut stands and they still make industrial grade trikes for factories and bikes but it's hard to get just the wheels, I got my steel 11g coaster Shimano on eBay through I believe "bicycle balloon tire" store, they all kindsa cool ol' stuff and the guy was way cool in customizing the actual wheel and was right on it,... That was about a year ago so good luck and give him a shot!

This here is where I got my workman, they at one point had some Dam slick chrome steel w/black 10g spokes!! Worksman, heavy frickin duty.

It took 10weeks for worksman to build the drum brake fronts and Granger had the rear coaster shamano 110's... (Tell them it's for a worksman bike and not a motorized bicycle)

No, I'm a pretty sedate rider. (66 yrs old you know). And these failures have happened over a period of years of riding. Thousands of miles. The Husky rim did fail after one season of riding. (Hub and cracks) Not to disparage the Husky brand, it's just not made for mb's.
