Whizzer WC-1 Cylinder

Now that I see ya used counter sink screws to mount the adapter plate.
I got an easier Idea of how to mount that belt guard with pan head screws
Put spacers in between the adapter plate and engine to achieve the correct clearance for the belt guard
Then just screw the belt guard to the adapter plate with short pan head screws.
Looks like the 4 pan head screws won't interfere with the belt
If needed, nuts could be epoxied on the backside of the adapter plate for the 4 pan head screws.

My mind is already thinking of another way to skin that Kat, but I think I've given enough suggestions already :ROFLMAO:

Just wondering if your gonna have the flywheel beveled. I always like that look with the vintage belt guard

While this thread is on the subject of Belt Guards

Here's a trick to keep the New Generation Whizzer Plastic Belt Guard for cracking

Tip: when using a screw drive, hold the tip between your fingers so incase it slips off the screw head it won't scratch the chrome
As you can see in the pic of the old cracked belt guard the chrome got all scratched up before I discovered this easy trick.

I would also think you could use threaded inserts for the pan head screws instead of epoxied nuts. It looks like the aluminum plate is thick enough. I use them in woodworking projects all the time There are many types.. most just "screw" into an oversize hole.

Or "rivet nuts". Just my two cents.

Your NE is a 04
You didn't get the right information. Let me give it to you. When the Whizzer Dealers got the First NE's like yours. They came with the 26mm carburetor, it didn't take long for them to see it had way to much power. So they went with the 22mm carb like wrenches whizzer, yours is first, his is second. Yours is more valuable.
You just need to find the Top end like this one. There from 2004. The one to the left is 22mm, to the right is the 26mm. Look at the intake port. Also take a look at the Whizzer Brochure, pictures show 26mm carbs!

Ray
Ray, I have finally started taking the " 08 04" apart. Upgrading the oil breather via Wrench's C.A.S.O. and finally took the carb off. Surprise, Surprise. Where is what I found. It appears my jug is the smaller intake as well as the carb. The previous owner (who only ever rode it for the first 300 miles after buying it from the deceased original owner) had said he "had some improvements done" including taking some of the exhaust restrictions out and opening up the intake restrictor. That he did. Pretty chewed up, but open none the less. See the pictures below on what I actually have on this bike. I was disappointed that an August of 2004 NE5 had the smaller intake. Measurements: Carb is 21.54 mm the intake on the jug is 17.65mm.
