Anywhere we go, we're bound to have disagreements. This is a normal.
But, here at MBc, we must disagree with a certain amount of tact.

tact--(noun); a keen sense of what to say or do to avoid giving offense; skill in dealing with difficult or delicate situations.

Name calling & personal insults will be edited and the following statement will be added to the objectionable post.
"MBc EDIT - This post contained content that is listed in the MotoredBikes.com rules as unacceptable."

Posts containing Bogus Info will be tagged with......
"MBc EDIT - This post contains information or advice that MotoredBikes.com knows to be incorrect."

What is NOT surprising is that the issue has arose. Most "virtual" forums collapse due to irrelevance or nasty disputes. That also explains why there are so many churches in the neighborhoods, nobody can agree even about the divines and absolutes.

But it should be emphasized to the hundreds of forum members, and hundreds of future members, that the "red red rules" are only aimed at that miniscule two, three, maybe seven folks that just wanna kick sand and bogart the discussions.

The universal GOLDEN RULE is the only one that is necessary, vanity and pride are the hardest things to conquer.

And BOGUS is so easy to spot nowadays...... I promote Motorized Bikes because unlike all the crap on television that doesn't work, this idea will, and improvements and ideas are flowing into MB.com nearly every day.

MB.com has just begun to see its potential, keeping the SPAMMERS away from the get go was the thing that got us on the right track. I am grateful to the hundreds of members who know how frustrating it can be to get an active site together, then keep itself fresh, relevant and semi-organized.

I am probably the most full of sh*t, least respectful of governmental authority poster on this forum, admit to various topic infractions.

But I try not to be a jerk about it at the same time. :D

Ya me too it just seems some people just have to get personal like making an example out of me because of a posting error .just wish some were not so critical. It should not be intimidating for people to find the advice they need. more people are going to keep registering at the other bike motor forum.

easy there...there were plenty of examples ahead of you to learn from...all that was required was some reading before leaping in. somehow you feel we should be penalized because you're new to forums? i saw the reason for your mistake, no way i or the guys will be held responsible for you not scrolling down far enough to see your post...

and don't take it any more personally than the moderators who have to guide 20+/- new members thru this every week, fair enough?

most folks just have a quick "ok" and get over it, then i clean up the public issue, & it usually never happens again...just ask/read around to see if that's not so.

we put too much work into this place to let folks run rough-shod over the content...if we stop someone early enough, it will either lead to a member who appreciates the staff's efforts, or to a member who feels they'd be happier not logging on.

i'm a forum admin & i run an old-school forum. by definition alone, you now know the whole story.

i'm trying to run an effective tech/mech forum, the social values are a bonus, but not job-one. until we get some sort of wiki-team going, we're gonna have to remain rock-solid on content and placement policies.

for a forum that seems to be geared tords helping people this one sure seems to be judgmental.

this forum is here to help you with your motoredbike, and we do a dang fine job of it.

it is not staff's job to teach you how to use a forum. some new folks seem to think it is...i could see how someone might judge that attitude as a lil selfish.

There's another bike motor forum? Funny I have seen a couple of message boards, but not yet have I found a place with the kind of information needed to build a MotoredBike. And tune it, fix it, modify it...

an example was not made of you
it was just that you posted the same question in 4 places
if you had read any of our posting rules/regs you would have known it wasn't very appropriate
there are 4 people here who VOLUNTEER their time to keep this place running, and it gets frustrating when we have to clean up behind people, just because they couldn't be bothered to read
if you still think we were picking on you, look at it from our point of view
we post stickies for people to read and know these things, and it seems that few ever read them :(

Yo, Bill, keeping in mind that I do totally understand your frustration, and am very greatfull for all the volunteers here. Per the second paragraph in the first post. In circumstances where there is anything like a dispute, it might be a good idea to avoid words like "noone". Though it may well be acurate.

And, to be evenhanded. 215, They've had to clean up after me too. Try to learn from it and get on with having fun.

i agree...i try to avoid terms like "everyone" or "never"...something i prolly learned from some older dood who had had enuff of my young whippersnapper ways.

to me, it's always obvious within a coupla posts whether a new arrival has read our policies or not. the next couple posts will tell me if they ever will.

it's also obvious when someone is trying to help themselves...or looking for a handout.

if you come into our house & disregard the rules, then i feel no need to be "nice" about steering you straight.

my philosophy about membership...quality over quantity.

like 'van, anyone who can tolerate my style will find him or herself a welcome part of a tight community, you betcha! ask anyone...once you acclimate, i pretty much leave you alone, as i'm busy with the next batch of new members.
