Rat Rods, friction drive moped kit.

Keep up the effort 2speed. You have a good kit and the competition is good for the hobby. They're not dissin ya, just talkin. We all wish you the best brother. You're right, FD's are fair weather rides. Simple, reliable and fun. I've tried stone rollers and even those will slip on a wet tire and wear it out quick. Just going through a simple sprinkler puddle the roller will slip briefly. Still it's my choice for a fun feeling like a kid again ride.

I love my friction drive, the low maintenance, ability to hybrid ride as a human powered bike and the basic simplicity. The one feature I am having issue with, is the fuel consumption. My .7 liter tank is only getting about 3-4 miles, granted I have a lot of hills, but my in-frame bike does way better. I see in the photo you guys are also toting a gas can. The engine is tuned well, and it will fly. I am going to fit a 1/2 gallon tank on it for a little more range. I'm running a 2.5 HP 2 stroke, 1.34 roller and a 26" tire. Any ideas?

Centurion, 1/2 gal, thick plastic. $30 plus ship. Let me know if your interested.

Got my 1/2 gallon tank fitted somewhat, my range will definitely improve over the original tank, that little thin thing looks like it only held a few ounces. Only dilemma is the back mounts wont work on the Bayside frame. I got the front bolted, and have it two sided gorilla taped.

Just make a new U-strap for it, you could use plumbers tape if you dont have any metal strap. Just make your new U-strap longer for the rear of the tank.

I'm going to challenge you as an inventor and engineer. Inventors
have to invent stuff that is needed. Invent a rear mounted chain
drive for engines like the Honda GX50, Zenoah 43L, and other
trimmer type engines. Make it so it drives from the left side
of the rear wheel so any bike can be adapted. With this
invention you will have beaten friction drives.
