50's Rollfast, 5HP Flathead Briggs, & 30series Torque Converter

Ok update on the dynamo. This is an alternator. So you can run it direct if your bulbs can handle around 24v ac ultimate. I found out the hard way my nice sealed beam driving lights wouldnt. These alternators are pretty hard to find a clear diagram on. So once I found its an alternator, I just wired up the pit bike regulator I bought originally, with a small battery. Works as it should putting out 13.4v DC. Now I can run LED driving lights. Sorry for all the confusion. Somewhere in a forum, not here, I was led to believe this dynamo had DC output. Alls well that ends well I guess.
DT, this is the final version if you should decide to run one of these Sorry about the pic was getting dark.

Thanks Cannonball3! So is the red wire output voltage/positive power to your lights? That's how I'm looking at the wiring & reading it.

Yep, it basically hooks to the battery to charge it and of course you draw power from there. I believe it would run with out a battery. I ran my BT 80 that way, But I leave that to you.

Thanks Sir! I was going to mentioned about it being ac voltage, but I wasnt 100% for sure on that, so I kept my trap closed.🤣😂🤣

I will throw this in for what its worth and yall correct me if Im wrong. Regarding the Chinese converter belt from what I found they have used the same belt the GY6 scooters use, the 669. The spacing on the driver/driven on the clone converter falls into a dimension that is between or different than the Real Comet Tav30. So looks like the 669 is the only belt? Also I did not have a 7” driver its a 6+as I measure it on the cart. So just thinking they spaced the converter to use a cheap convenient belt. Also if you want lower engagement of the driven, pink springs engage at 1800, orange at 1500.

Well I bought a american made torque convertor made by Bravex, it came with a 669 belt on it. I found that it works but is a little tight, thus not getting all the way into overdrive. I found a comet 203589 belt is just a touch longer & works out great. The 203589 is a original tav30 series belt, I also found that the 203589 belt works better with the super 30 series torqzilla type drive pulley because of the extra length. I believe a 203590 belt would be best thou if using a super series type drive pulley. For those needing them, I got 30 series belt #'s for about any application with center to center pulley dimensions. Cannonball3 brought up a good point, because I was fighting mine with belt length.
