Starting new build, your thoughts?

To my knowledge, the only mounting bolt holes on the Honda GX35 or 50 are the 4 holes around the clutch. With a Honda GX50 or 35 bolted to a Bikeberry dual chain transmission, what are the mounting points for securely attaching the motor/transmission combo to the bike frame? Staton-Inc's heavy gear reducer has 2 bolt holes on the side of the case for this, so you bolt the reducer to the bike and the engine just hangs off the reducer. BikeBerry's transmission has the 4 holes to bolt it to the motor (blue arrows below) and 2 other holes that bolt the case halves together (red arrows below). I can fabricate mounting points on the frame of my bike, but how would the transmission or motor attach?

If you want a transmission such as this go with the Gru🐝Bee 4G. A much better quality transmission and company to deal with.

That's really the only thing that sucks about the honda gx35 & gx50. Either engine has no said engine mounting bolt holes, other than the 4 bolt holes for the transmission clutch bell. If you remove the fuel tank on them engines I believe you can get 2 more mounting spots/bolt holes. Also the the grubee trans is better than the bikeberry one, but the grubee trans is probably as heavy as a staton gearbox.

No where near as heavy

The Bikeberry guy said their transmission weighs 4 lbs 5 oz. The GX35 weighs a little over 7 lbs. I remember being surprised when I bought a Staton-Inc reducer that it weighed more than the GX35.

OK, I just found it on Staton-Inc's website. Their 18.75:1 gearbox weighs 9.1 lbs:

I sent Gru🐝Bee an email asking how much their 4G 5:1 weighed.
