Hello all!

Last night I ordered a short ... straight ... CNC intake. Currently my build has very little room for the air filter... the stock "speed" (red) air filter just BARELY fits (I have to actually maneuver it correctly to get it on). In an effort to make enough room to add an aftermarket air filter (mostly for "looks" to be honest) I picked up the shorty intake figuring short and straight = better than long with a bend... and the added bonus of more room for an air filter! So I bought.

I went out an took a good look at the current setup. I am wondering... with the new straight intake, how in the heck is the clutch going to work? It doesn't appear there is enough room for the carb being down low AND the clutch cable with the pivot/mount in the center/rear of the engine and what not... though it HAS to be able to clear else there wouldn't be so many positive reviews of these things... right?!?

What do you guys do if you're running a short/straight intake?

low profile air filter for tight spaces...fits in tight spots...Its a direct fit replacement from the stock plastic case ones that have the four tubes projecting downward...I use this air filter for 360 degree air flow and it easily cleanable like a K&N air filter.

Does it take up any more room than the stock speed filter? If it does... it won't fit (unless I use that short intake). I actually picked up a very similar filter to that one that one that is coming as well ... and I was hoping to be able to use it ... but I won't know until I get it and see how I am going to get that clutch line to work with the shor-straight intake and speed carb-combo.

EDIT: It's tight in there...

Oh it's bigger for sure. But I was hoping to gain the space needed with that smaller straight intake...

Its too big for a small confined space...exactly what are you dealing with for space...any pics???.

Here is how mine fits in the pic below without having to change the intake tube.

I posted a bad (low res) photo above of how tight it is currently. It looks like i am going to have to take a look to see how the carb sits with the new intake.

I assume that clutch mount/pivot bracket that is currently sitting pretty high can be lowered down sort of close to the case?
