So recently I bought a Chinese motor kit from Amazon and I wasn’t really liking it I change the carbs and tune the jets and it went faster but I just didn’t like how it was going and I wanna start with a new build I have pictures of my old build in this thread but I want some thing faster but also a little bit more like Reliable because I had quite a few issues with this one in the start with the CDI problems spark plug magneto and those remind me issues with this one so if you have any suggestions for a bill that can go like 35-40 maybe My budgets around 350 I do have everything so I can take stuff off of my old build So if you have any recommendations please let me know I was looking into the phantom 85 but I hear a lot of problems with the PistonHeads so I’m a little concerned about that or I was also considering the stage 4 BBR With the stage to CDI that you can also buy dunno I just want a faster build that’s better and higher quality also I’m gonna put the new motor that I’m buying for this on a Bayside Kent cruiser bike And I know all that making your bike reliable is the bike and how you build it so I am aware of that but I just wanna be a better motor itself

I was looking into the phantom 85 but I hear a lot of problems with the PistonHeads
It does not have a "PistonHead"...It is a one piece jug.

The actual problem it had in the first generation was using graphene bushings rather than needle bearings and wrist pin along with better E clips to hold it together.

They all come with real needle bearings now...You are the one who needs to assemble it yourself as I just did...This will make sure that everything is correct inside which also means you need to be mechanically inclined and capable...I will probably be putting it on my bike today, arthritis permitting

Also, If you live where I think you do, how are you getting around the local "constabulary" with that...I am a retired police lieutenant from the "Commonwealth" now living in New Mexico...lol

I know the "Dottie" area quite well...lol.

I live in New Hampshire I’ve passed Cops and nothing is happened But I also live in a small town and I do take a lot of trails that go through town there’s a lot of mountain biking trails in my town yeah I was looking at your post on the phantom 85 did you order it on Amazon to because there was another website I found but I think Amazon is the cheapest place I found it but I was reading your post about the jug getting stuck I am somewhat mechanically inclined I just Did a bbr stage 4 kit and I had to assemble the piston and Jug I just don’t know the names of everything I’ve still been learning I’ve learned a lot with this I’m pretty mechanically inclined with cars which is a completely different thing but a little close but would you recommend the phantom 85 because I was that was my biggest contender but I was worried about it breaking very easily as that’s what I felt like I read but I wasn’t 100% sure so what are your recommendations on it

I live in New Hampshire
I lived there for 20 years doing up my second career after retiring from police work, I was in Newmarket, Rye, Dover, Rochester, Hampton Beach, and North Hampton ...lol...I left for New Mexico in July of 2011.

New Hampshire will not be to nice to you if your caught...You need to be licensed, insured, and registered...And possibly inspected, and they do not make it easy to find correct information between legal and illegal...Its a mess that Concord should be straightening out, but hasn't as of yet.

Well thank for letting me know I did not know that and that is good to know but I do also ride in the trails a lot in the powerlines you have a house so I’d still want a bike for the trails so Would you recommend the phantom 85

Thats gonna be the 60,000 dollar question here since I need to get it on my bike sometime today as I mentioned...I went through the whole thing pretty methodically, (My second career in NH was ASE certified Master Tech also managing facilities for Valvoline), And as far as I can see, Everything looks really "tickety boo" right now as the Brits would say...lol...The proof is going to be in my running it...Im just hoping it is equal to what my Zeda 80 was even though this is supposed to be better...Time will tell.

Well I’ll keep a close eye I’m excited to hear about it.

By the way, no major biggie, but your gas filter is on upside down...that tiny round magnet attached to the metal plate inside that filter is supposed to be facing the gas tank, not the carby...lol.
