I have been considering getting a set of Mag wheels for my 700C Kent Nazz ever since I bought it. After now having trued the rear wheel for the third time I think it might be a good idea, but I have read so many opinions back and forth on them.

When it comes to 700C mags, there are not many options that fit my requirements out there. I stumbled across a few different BMX 29" mags that look like they are good quality, but lack the front disc brake hub. I am not giving up my front disc brakes.

So that currently leaves me with one semi-affordable option, which is a set sold by CDH. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y65BFJL/ref=ewc_pr_img_2?smid=A1M3YRJD9CM01W&th=1

I can transfer my tires, tubes, rotors, and freewheel over to these guys no problem. I just need to sacrifice my rear disc brake, which is honestly ok since the front does most of the work anyway. I just need to install a rear clamp style caliper out back to at least give me some braking power back there.

I do like the fact that they use sealed roller bearings as well. I always hated the unsealed cup and cone style traditional bearings.

Yes, I know they will be a bit heavier, and that's fine. My concern is the durability. Has anybody had experience with CDH/ any other branded cheaper mag wheels on their bike? Good or bad. I welcome insight, input, and opinion.

If you might consider dropping down to 26", The URL link and links throughout may give ya some ideas...My bike weighs in at 80 pds and I'm 217 pds so I am no "lightweight" here either...lol.

This is how I approached the problem.

I will not sacrifice my 700c/29" wheels. Come hell or high water lol.

Heck, I damn near bought a 32 inch cruiser before I settled on this bike

Your options will indeed be limited then my friend using the "European standards" size...lol.
Story of my life. Being a big and tall person usually puts limitations on almost every aspect of your life. This is no different.

I just went ahead and ordered them along with a 40 tooth sproket. In the grand scheme of things they aren't too terribly expensive anyway, and the reviews that I did find, both on Amazon and elsewhere were mostly positive. I am sure if I keep the pressures up the tires should be decently protected anyway. I normally run them both at 50psi. Plus, what it really comes down to is I trust them to hold up better than the cheap ass wheels and thin spokes that came on the bike. I will keep those wheels off to the side for if/when I decide to change bikes, I can toss them back on and sell the bike whole.

This was the monster I first considered. https://kent.bike/products/32-kent-big-league

I would still love to build one up, but it would require a complete reengineer to suit my purposes. I did actually consider it for a long-term build up though. Eliminate the coaster brake and swap the hub out for one of the stronger 3 speed units, install a dynamo disc brake front hub, and then of course brakes all around. Then set it up to run my jackshaft setup I have just sitting in a box over here.

If I was any good at changing hubs, that's what I'd do. You can get disc brake hubs to fit any wheel.

Honestly, I ain't that good with it either. I would probably just take the wheel and desired hubs to a bike shop and pay them to do it for me. Lacing and truing wheels is one step above being repeatedly punched in the groin.

Probably the best idea to get the wheels you need. Sturmy Archer 5 speed IGH and shift kit. (y)(y)(y)
