Newest Phantom 85 Information

Not with mine, but I have a few pictures of others guy's pistons with top land failures. This is why I don't trust the stock pistons. They are nice looking, but the casting is absolute s**t. I would rather run a windowless 460 piston over the stock unit.

I've noticed that their last phantom review was Mar 17, now you know why!
They police their reviews. Mine ain't up there, and believe me, I left one.

The best place to post reviews will be right here for everyone to read...As long as there are no cuss words etc, though...lol...They won't get deleted but will be here for all to read...lol.
My review contained zero bad words. It was actually fairly positive, but honest about the condition mine came in. I only gave it 3 stars. Notice how many stars all the reviews you see on their site have?

Just for giggles here, do you have the URL for where you got your MS460 Stihl piston and rings and needle bearing and wrist pin from as I may well need to resort to it...lol.

I should be able to just run it as stock, as is, right???

Wolf Creek Saw Shop, but they are out of stock on the Meteor pistons at the moment. Hyway brand pistons are also good and you can find them easy enough. Some even sell them with the caber rings if so desired.

Yes,.if you use a 460 piston you don't need to do anything at all. Just remove the reed if you don't want to window it.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/225...st.0.0.21ef1802NwHw28&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt This is the piston i'm using in mine. I had to file about 2mm to use the phantom needle bearing. Running without reed an has plenty of power!
Next time you can save yourself the filing and just use an 038 wrist pin bearing which is 13mm wide vs. The 046 bearing which is 15mm wide. I personally don't recommend the 038 piston for a couple.of reasons I talked about in a previous reply, but they do work.

The bearing that comes with the ms380 piston was too short and I wanted less slack.

This be it I suppose? I guess I can't use my rings from my new Phantom, right?

(automatic no unless you ask)
