Ok so , yesterday I start up my daily driver and leave my house to go about my errands I notice what feels like my transmission "slipping" , have a lower top speed , and having trouble from a stop.
Once I'm up and running it's kinda ok but like I said lower top speed.
I ride I micargi Seattle with a 49cc hua-stang engine.
Now I noticed that it looks like the teeth on my drive sprocket are worn on at least one tooth..could this be the problem? Or perhaps the clutch? My back up bike is also not running at the moment due to the engine not running properly so I'm about halfway thru re-installing my original yd100 on there albeit with a new jug(old was leaky around the exhaust)
Any input on this would be great. Now compounding the situation I was downsized this week and have a family and special needs daughter. So money is extremely tight if I need to buy a new gear box idk where the moneys coming from. So if someone has one (49cc long shaft) I'd be happy to purchase it from ya. I'm not looking for a hand out, I'd be willing to pay or trade something from my extensive collection of parts and motors . The problem is all my stuff is 2 stroke and I need parts for a 4 now that I went over to the "dark side" lolbut seriously any advice , ideas, or offers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance fellas

No this is most definitely some kind of drive train issue. The sparkplug is new the carb is/or should be fairly clean I run only 91 or better octane with no ethanol gas or if I can't make it to one of the two places that sell no ethanol I put fuel treatment. Plus it feels chain related. Although I have experienced a couple of stalls. Now that you mention it. Could my bike just need an oil change? May sound like a dumb question but this is my first 4 stroke.and now that I think about it about a week ago I put some "4 cycle fuel" in it, I run premix 40:1 in my 2 strokes and the guy at the hardware store recommended it to me it's the same brand as I put in my 2's so I figured I'd try it out. I was actually wondering why there would be a need for such a thing when regular gas is actually cheaper. But I've refueled at least twice since then.
But thanks chain you always help me out or at least have a suggestion

Take the clutch off and inspect it, Maybe the shoes are worn or just glazed over and all's ya gotta do is sand the glaze off.
Or replace the shoes if their worn.

Oil that clutch bushing too. It can kinda stick to the shaft if it's not oiled regular. Probably the issue.
Your 4 stroke clutch bushing is famous for that. Guys upgrade the clutch bushing to an Oilite Bushing.
Oilite bushings are impregnated with oil and they won't stick to the shaft

You need a tachometer/hour counter. My 4 stroke engine is 12 years and has over 4500 hours of use on it. I change my oil every 25 hours and clean the air filter every 10 hours. When I change my oil I also check my valve clearance and will adjust them if they need it.

Well you guys nailed it! After removing the gearbox and cleaning and sanding the bell and clutch as well as an oil change and men she's back running like new! Thanks guys!!!!!
