I am more than excited to start a new build thanks to @Nickt919 pointing out to me dirt bike engines with shifters are available on eBay. I've discussed with my dad and I'm gonna start work on my bike disassembling it asap! After Christmas and shovelling driveways I should have enough money for one of the following engines. I promise to keep you all updated and post on this forum regularly and not just when I have an issue.

I am deciding between liquid cooled and air cooled. Liquid cooled I need to power a water pump and I need a radiator, air cooled is simpler but less power and I have to worry about overheating while riding. Although, I don't know the reliability spec of these air cooled engines.

These are my candidates:
Liquid cooled

Air cooled:

The horsepower is a big difference, 8 for the air cooled 50cc and 12 for the liquid cooled 65cc.

What I need help with is a way to develop mounts without a CNC machine, I have access to a plasma cutter, more power tools than anyone can imagine, a welder, and a bunch of metal which I can go buy high quality metal from alro steel if needed.

My first plan is to measure my bikes "engine bay", it's like a double or triple xl bike frame on 26in tires, so there is about as much room as a felt, hence why I can use CNC mounts on it despite it being a mountain bike.

I want to reinforce all of the welds, add gussets to the frame for structural stability, high quality rims such as Geminis which I would have to buy for this build. (I'm gonna have to do a lot of cutting and welding). My dad is gonna help me with scrap metal to make my welds perfect and I would like to do all the welding.

If you don't already know, the bike pictured below is the one I am using.

For tires I would like thick n slicks, but based on how I ride off road and I'll probably be doing a bunch of off road riding with that engine, I will probably go with something with some tread like semi slicks or something with a little more tread, like just a little more than hookworms. Nothing crazy offroad.

I am not going to spend a penny and all of my money is going toward this build, I just can't wait to smoke four wheelers and dirt bikes. I would probably use either the same pipe I have right now for top end, or throw on my mz65.

I would immediately replace the seat probably for something like a fat man's seat, I would like a suspension seatpost but I might fabricate a dirt bike style of cafe racing style seat on to here. Not only for looks but for comfort. I have plenty of suspension forks that are insane quality, like off of a mountain bike that was like 2 grand. I will take those off and replace my still forks.

This is going to be a lot of work but I hope that you guys are happy to help me because this is the most all out I've gone for a build. And of course I would do cosmetics, I plan to sand and strip the whole frame bare, do a real paint job with something other than cheap rattle cans and weld on legs where the pedals are. If anyone wants to buy my Athena or buy it with a brand new never used minarelli cylinder, or buy my naraku slightly used cylinder and piston, less than 15 riding miles, or buy my best on minarelli cylinder that needs a hone but is fine and I have a brand new piston for it, let me know.

The engine on this bike has 14 riding miles because it's snowing in Michigan and I only ride in the snow when I'm pulling my friends in a sled.

The engine will include the carb, which is perfectly tuned for my elevation spent weeks tuning but if your a different elevation might need to change. Engine included cdi, I will send a video of it running off the bike if you want and I can also put on the CNC head I would use the money towards my KTM Build.

I hope I didn’t open a poison can of worms for you.
I’m regretting posting to the thread because I fear for your safety should you follow through with this.
Pointing out the KTM engines was more of a joking poke than serious bit of info. One of those engines can easily over power a bicycle to disaster.
Wrench showed a video once of a guy with a KTM engine on a bicycle.
The bike was a rolling coffin IMO.

Wouldn’t it be much better and a whole lot easier yto buy a street legal scooter that has adequate tires, suspension, and brakes?…..one that you can build up a bit for performance?
Even though the KTM engine is about $500 you will end up spending a lot more fitting it with all the stuff necessary to make it roll and be somewhat reliable.

Before you say it cost too much…

You’ll end up spending more than this scooter price once your bicycle is outfitted with one of those KTM engines… guaranteed. And there will be tons of headaches along the way.

The Mineralli conversions we have can be all a bicycle frame can handle. Mine will easily get to 60 mph and do it quickly but it’s not advisable to ride a bicycle that fast. A bicycle that gets up to 30-35 easily and can ride there is plenty fast enough.

 
Building a solid bike, takes a lot more than an engine. It will be in the Ks $$$$ money wise before ever be able to ride, plus a ton of time, maybe months.
I would like to see you build it, but hang on to your present ride for some transportation in the mean time.

I’m sure the bike in the photo had to cost more than $4,000 to build.

I don't understand how It can be so expensive, besides a radiator and motor mounts I don't see me buying anything more. I want to reinforce the frame I have with steel gussets, I don't see a problem with that. There was one bike in the races I forgot his name its the RDM guy he had his RDM engine on what looked to be the nastiest frame ever.

It's gonna be far from safe, take this guys build for example. It is the kind of set up I want.

Wheres my money!, btw you will need 2 radiators with ktm liquid cooled. You need a maytag engine!!! 🤣😂🤣
