M48 rebuild no start

They are aftermarket reeds. I didn't look at it yet because I was told without a filter it's going to run lean and could cause the hard start. But I did check it out before I installed it and it looked fine. Pretty much got the whole bike together. Except the exhaust. For some reason they gave me the wrong size screws. Going to pick some up in a little bit.
Before I put the air filter on I started it with some fluid. And I was going to take it for a ride but as soon as I got on it and accelerated it died. I know this is going to screw up my tuning without the muffler. But did it die because it's not getting enough fuel? Jetting too low?
The other thing that I noticed as soon as I put the engine on I forgot to mention this. When I try and start it with the throttle open it makes a big squeaking noise. I'll post a video. Any ideas why it's doing that?

That sounds a little bit like a side cover touching the flywheel. Is the flywheel bent at all? How bout the cover, is it bent?

No definitely not the cover or the flywheel. It happens without the cover and only with the throttle

Yeah, reeds will resonate like a blowing through a blade of grass if the airflow is just right. They are only opening a tiny bit, so they vibrate against the reed block and make a squealing noise.

I am not saying that's what the noise you are hearing is, but a definite possibility.

I got everything together. Looked at the reeds yesterday and they were no cracks. barely any light shining in. I blew through it and it moves easily. Exhaust and air filter on 62 jet. I just need to figure out how to mount some kind of bracket to hold the exhaust. And I have to bend the pedal. Last night I had it started without the air filter basically one kick no choke. Took it for a ride last night It was pretty good except the acceleration off the stop is really slow and when I hit the top of the hill it started slowing down pretty bad. This morning tryed it again It wants to kick over sometimes but it doesn't. Put the air filter on and same thing.

Something like this should work.
As far as getting it started Where should I go from here?

As long as its mounted at least 3/4 length from cylinder head mount or least 1/2 way back from the front it should be ok.
