A 49cc motorized bike kit on a soft tail mountain bike, using the bottom bracket as a jackshaft to a derailleur for mid drive e-bikes. Not sure if its worth building or even planning out.

Im not sure about the old mopeds as most were single speed.

I have though about getting a chinese 125cc dual sport and swapping it with a 50cc engine to get a street legal motorcycle that feels big. I know it would be a real dog and cost way too much but half the fun is the build.

Those horizontal 125s are quite wide compared to a moped, and the length of them would put the head pretty close to the tire. So, not really P&P.

The vertical 125s would need a bracket so the cylinder and head would clear the frame.

I just went and measured my 70cc, similar just less cc, it's 18" long so there is a possibility for it to fit. But, definitely have to fab a hanger or two.

My 1st real M/C was a 72 CT70. On its best day with no wind on a flat it could do 45mph. I would have been the fastest kid on the block with a 125cc put on that bike.
