Well, in my quest to find out how things work i took my crankcase cover off to reset my timing belt. It really isnt necessary I found out because these parts are pretty much just gears and pulleys that interlock pretty tightly, but i took photos of the process anyways. It seems like one shouldn't have to do this, unless you really really overload the motor causing the cam gear to literally break a tooth, but here are the pics anyways...
