Anyone here ride on snow?

The only problem with full face shields is that the humidity from your breath freezes up the lens and you can't wipe it out with out stopping. Ah, the trips I made to michigan on Sundays to cop beer on a honda cub 50, with a rider on back, were STUPID!
Michigan sold beer on Sundays and our cars were down, so we made the 8 mile trek.
Not more than 15 or 20 accidents.

Heck or frozen roads, I am riding until spring. Then a lil more. Are there ways to make a bike tire safer in winter slop, ice and snow? (Beer runs in the truck are just not fun any more)

i would think you would need gear reduction to get more power ,,and if you have a peddle start you may be in trouble ,,with more gear reduction you are going to need no snow to get started ,,so 3 think you will need,,, pull start,,,,gear reduction ,,,, and studs ,,,,,,,, o ,yes one more thing when the cops come to investigate why you ran into the back of 20 ton snowblower you should carry in a secret section of your wallet , a letter from the doctor that proves you are half nuts

I'll take some pictures of my process for making snow tires. I hope to fiind some time to work on them today.

HARR Jpat! I should update that letter. Only half would be an improvement.

Kewl Alaskavan. I was thinking of "twining" Velcro in a spiraling manner threw the rim and around the tire making a tread. Wouldn't last long (or help much) but is cheap.

I don't want to by a tractor track for my bike because they only work on deep snow. I went to their web site and didn't see anyone riding on level ground. They only show people riding downhill because they would probably be going only 2 miles per hour on level ground. Has anyone seen that web-site?

A tractor track for bicycles? - please tell me more

Link to bicycle with a track instead of a tire

I haven't been here for a few days and didn't see the additions to this thread.

I did a search and found the web site for the kit to put a track on the rear of a bicycle.

Here is the link to the web site: https://www.ktrakcycle.com/index.html.

It looks fun for going downhill only. The photos and videos don't show anyone riding on level ground or going uphill for very far. One probably could walk as fast on level ground.

There are videos of such things on motorcycles on Youtube.com. They look fun. (I'm not searching for those links.)
