i want to tell you how bad the search engine is auge,,, i searched the word ,,,beauty ,,,,and out of the 500 returns your name was not even mention
,,and finally for the first time you have to agree that there must be something terrible wrong with the search engine

Hey All,

This is off topic, but on the discussion of newbies and searching and the like.

Here's an area that could be built.
The top 10 posts.
or the Top 50 posts.
or Top 10 posts by section.

Or call it the Must Read posts, if you don't want it to be a competition.

That way newbies can read the Top Quality posts first,
as decided by you the admins.

Do a vote or rating, or just say this is it...

Then search futher for issue specific stuff.

I know I've read heaps here, but only 1 in 5 is relevant
to my issue.

With like 5,000 posts, people need to be directed to the goods.

Hey Augie, just a simple thought, what if someone took the time to re-title the threads and in doing so, it would become relevant and highly searchable. I know this would require a lot of time and some may be offended that their titles were changed but seeing the direction the input dats is taking, it looks as though this problem is just getting bigger and bigger.
We need a virtual filing cabinet.
Even if the Moderators started retitling now it would stop the continuing cluster blank.
I can volunteer some time if needed, just so you know, I'm not all talk.

Well...this site is great. What else is there to say.

I have found the search function to be quite good. I am a newbie too. I took the time to read a lot of the information on this site before I posted any questions.

Actually I think I've only asked one question (private question to another member) because every difficulty I have encountered has already been answered on this great site.

Search funtion works but I would say its great. I've tried to search for various info but it just would come up. If one doesn't have the key words correct, well, you miss out on the threads & info.

Thought I'd mention it for what its worth.
