Do you believe that asking peoples opinion, then criticizing it will help your response?
Wow.. can I get some cheese with that wine? Really, tho, some people are really touchy on this message board.

From what I understand, on electric cars, trailer pushers get the same gas mileage as a regular gas powered car (i highly doubt those people included the cost of electricity and replacement batteries, however)... but you can take the extra weight off and go electric only for everyday city driving...

I'm just failing to see how a trailer pusher is gonna help a bicycle out, however. They're supposed to be as light as possible, allowing minimum resistance.

I'm failing to see the point, which is why I said "it doesn't seem like that great of an idea". If it is, let him respond with all the benefits. Again, I'm failing to see them over a simple motored bike.

If there were pics, stats, and a cult following like here at motoredbikes, I'd be more willing to say that idea has benefits (...or not).

I think the pusher type may be up and coming technology. A good low emission 4 stroke engine with ability to change gearing plus low cost and you can remove the pusher and have a regular bicycle. THe long range application plus having a electric pusher that can carry a battery or a small engine with a generator. When you start thinking out side the box and see something like Stuart has done, it makes motor assisted bicycles a new frontier.
See, I was definitely not thinking outside the box. Everything I read about trailer pushers was in reference to electric cars, so of course I thought the bike must be electric too.

I'm really just not too keen on electric vehicles in general due to the sorry state of batteries today. Maybe in 2010...

But I could definitely see some benefit for some people to have a regular, pedal-only bike with a trailer pusher. That is definitely more practical to me than involving massive batteries that won't hold 50% of their charge in 2 years time.

EDIT: Tho, isn't that the purpose of trailer pushers is to generate electricity to an electric vehicle or bike, even? That's what I understood which is why I don't particularly care for it, but until I see Stuart's work... I don't have much else to say.

no reading involved....just click the video link above.
Whoa! That's pretty wicked, alright.

And I really wasn't "criticizing" Filipino by saying it doesn't seem like a great idea. I was merely setting him or someone else like this gentlemen here to tell me why it is a great idea. That design is worthy of a nobel peace prize or something.

I personally woulda never that about that design because I am not as simple minded. That's amazing, tho!

Heh... Time for a new poll??

... why to which part?

I was trying to get a poll with experience behind it, but I realize that's hard...

And to the second part, of the 1,419 members & 628 active members... I just wouldn't expect more than 15 or 20% have built multiple motored bikes.

How does someone that has built several bikes vote, you only get one vote? Im in the painting stage of my third frame mount chain drive, and planing a 2stroke frame belt drive.

How does someone that has multiple candidates to choose from only get one vote?? That's a tough one.

The question was which one do you like MOST?
