My last pic of this bike running. Rear fuel tank and 12v system were stripped out and despite bags, bike handled very well. It was on it's 3rd engine, a well-built Dax 66. Quite fast at high RPM and quietly competent at low RPM. A few months later, the frame broke thanks to a pothole I didn't see.
This bike was pretty awesome here. I rode on the Santa Ana River Trail a lot, and this bike would chug along quietly at 20-22MPH (3600RPM). I'd pass people who didn't know I was motored until I went by with my popcorn-scented 2-stroke exhaust trailin LOL. Heard a few "yums" and got yelled at by bums. If I cranked the throttle open and pedaled a bit, it would shoot to 40MPH and stay there until wind or hill. This bike, despite the bags, was quite light, it was constructed of 7000-series aluminum.
