Yikes! Hope you're recovering well. Wow-someone just commented on my pic gallery telling me to remove my fenders - then I see your situation! Convinces me! I have a Schwinn, but similar flimsy fenders and mount. THANK YOU for posting this. Very important to share the good bad and the - well.....

After doing a header on my 1st bike (yanking the front brake lever instead of the clutch , duh )...I started to look at my bike differently ( from a safety view ) and read about those wire fender hangers, Monarch fork repros etc...the list is long. I would like to see ppl put together a thread ( if it hasnt been done already ) of the parts that just dont cut it when you add a motor to your bike...After my crash i re engineered something every few days to help me feel more confident about being safe...It is just as important as having your handlebars tight or your brakes working..Your injuries look painful and your post reminds us that we need to engineer our own safety mods into our bikes.. I hope you mend soon.....

dude... glad to see your standing. I mean wow. I am seriously considering a full face or at least a shatterproof full shield. If you even want new fenders the ones I acquired, SKS beavertail, they are plastic, but come with a heavy, thick mount. I feel for you. Get well.

I also am sorry this is your first pic post, is it not. Man... at least it all uphill from here.

Wow...you look like you just went a few rounds with Mike Tyson. Thanks for posting these pics because it's a good reminder of just how dangerous riding an MB can be and that a helmet is a must.
I hope you fully recover.

As painful as this was, thanks for the post. Makes the fender question resound. I had a simular skid on an electric scooter. Took my hide off an cracked an elbow and two ribs.
