the last thing i remember was seeing the front fender shake. i woke up when the ambulance arrived. fractured jaw, 4 broken teeth, and my eye opened

this is the funky little tab that failed. i don't think it was constructed to handle engine vibration

the wheel grabbed the wire leading from the hub to the rear of the fender. note part of fender torn off and in the wheel. ugly, no?
